Main corrections &
changes
1. PRINT improvements
1.1. Printing arcs
with different line types results with the same size of segments as for the linear
parts of the drawing.
1.2. PRINT – "Line
type segment size in millimeters" represents now the final size of the
line type unit during printing (as in older versions of ARC+).
1.3. PRINT
configuration – improved handling of different printers in the same Print
Configuration and display of the printer properties, after using a PDF printer.
2. COLORS management
2.1. The colors in
the icons of ARC+ files from older versions are now the same as they appear in
the file when it is opened (also after colors conversion).
2.2. The colors
configuration is now systematically verified and restored automatically, if
needed. This new mechanism prevents the random problems of empty colors palette
(invisible drawing of entities) or "black screen"…
3. ARC+ LIBRARY
3.1. All the catalogs
in the ARC+ library (ARCALIB) have been converted to 256 colors.
Note!
This change applies only to a FULL installation of ARC+ 2nd Edition
Build 516!
3.2. Some old
library objects have been repaired, in order to accelerate the process of opening
files in which they are placed.
4. SAVE2D in Modeling Mode (Geom) has
been improved and supports now the transfer of layers from the original
entities to the projected 2D lines.
5. RASTER support
Corrected random problem of corrupted part of the image (white pixels in the
low right corner). - Now the integrity of embedded images is maintained also
after manipulating and adding new entities in the file, following the insertion
of the image.
- DXF/DWG Support

6. SAVEAS DXF/DWG
6.1. Improved
export of placed objects from other folders and from ARCALIB, as blocks in the
DXF/DWG file.
6.2. POINT entities
which are blanked are not included in the saved DXF/DWG file.
6.3. Polygon
fillings (hatch and pattern) are now exported to DXF/DWG as blocks.
6.4. The position
of TTF text on dimension lines and on dimension symbols is maintained in the
DXF/DWG file.
6.5. Improved
export of text BLOCKS with same line spacing and justification.
7. OPEN DWG/DXF
7.1. Improved
import of XRef from DWG (as block in ARC+), with added control of
auto-referencing.
7.2. Improved
import of Spline from DXF/DWG.
7.3. Improved
import of XClip frame.
7.4. Improved
import of text with slant angle.
7.5. MTEXT from DWG
is imported now as Text Block in ARC+.

Artlantis
support
1.1. Added a new
option to save as Artlantis V.2 format, in addition to Artlantis V.1.2
1.2. Improved display of colors of polygons which
are created on the same plane.
1.3. Corrected
problem of crash when saving an ATL file with a name including special
characters (e.g. é, ç; à ...) or to a folder with such a name.
2.
PRINT
improvements
2.1. New Print
dialog organization and new option added to set color mode for TTF texts,
separately from fill color mode.
2.2. Improved print
of images after rotation by 90°. The orientation in the printed document is now
the same as on the screen.
2.3. The Print
dialog is always displayed on foreground, on top of the ARC+ window.

DSG
3.1. The command
\color is now disabled in DSG
This command can be executed only in Modeling mode and with a single session of
ARC+
3.2. Switching work
modes, from Modeling to DSG and back, preserves the status of the print
configuration in the re-opened file.
3.3. Added option
in the DSG Page Setting, to resize the DSG frame "around middle" or
"from lower-left point" of the DSG frame (\dpsiz).
4.
FONTS
The
diameter symbol was added to three ARC+ fonts - ARCFONT, DIN, STANDARD. To
include this symbol in a text, use the numeric keypad:
<Alt>0216 – for upper case diameter symbol
<Alt>0248 – for lower case
diameter symbol

SHADOW
Added
numeric values for latitude, in the dialog box of \sun command

Improvements
and additional options for OPEN and SAVEAS DXF/DWG files:

SAVEAS DXF
The
DXF created from ARC+ file is now in ASCII format and can be read by other
applications with this requirement.
7.
SAVEAS DXF/DWG
7.1. Saving DXF/DWG
from DSG with files placed from another folder, includes now the content of all
the frames.
7.2. Layer #0 is
not written to the DXG/DWG file saved from ARC+.
7.3. Solved problem
of hidden edges in polygons mesh which include overlapping points.
7.4. Blocks created
in DXF/DWG from the placed objects in the ARC+ file, include now the correct
attributes, also if in second level of placing or more.
Note:
The surface polygons in the ARC+ placed blocks are converted to 3D mesh in
DWG/DXF. This type of entity is always displayed in Autocad with continuous
line type

OPEN DWG/DXF
8.1. Removed option
from the dialog box to import "all layers" or "used layers"
- only "used layers" are imported
8.2. Fixed problem
of duplicate layer 1 in the layer table when no "layer 0" was found
in the original DXF/DWG file.
8.3. New external
utility was added to explode Hebrew fonts with special encoding, before opening
the DXF/DWG file with such texts

EXPORT and
IMPORT of DXF/DWG 2000 files with the old program
Export DWG/DXF
of version 2000 is now possible also with files of ARC+ 2nd Edition, in batch
or for single files. With this program:
a. All polygons (surface and symbol) are exported
from ARC+ as "polyline" in DXF/DWG.
b. All colors 1-255 are exported and imported as in
the source file. No color conversion is necessary, due to full compatibility of
the palette.

New commands:
1. LIBRARIES
New
command \DIMLIB, enables to prepare an object for saving as dimension level
symbol (\rndim), before running
\libedit.
- With this command you can define the justification point for the text, which
will be added to the symbol, when placed in the drawing.
2. POLYGONS
New
command \POLCONV, enables to convert a single polygon or a selection of
polygons to surface or to polyline (symbol).
This new option "Change type of polygon" has been added to the
contextual menu of polygons, in the first level.

Important
Notes !
1. Windows Vista
1.1. The
installation of this new version supports also the new Service Pack 1 of
Windows Vista.
1.2. Names with
spaces should be avoided - for openings and library objects
- This problem may be avoided by
setting the "Compatibility Mode" in the properties of the ARC+ manager (SETVERSION) to: "Windows
XP SP2".
2. Texts and Dimensions
Default text
size option was changed from "FIXED" to "SCALED", when
starting ARC+.
- This option can be changed by using text styles or by the commands \adim and
\atext.
3. Display of images with Alpha channel
Is inversed in
ARC+, in comparison with other programs.
- If you are using the same images in different programs, prepare a copy of
them with reverse selection of Alpha Channel...
4. All commands operating on polygons
Changed
terminology from "symbol polygon" to "polyline", for
compatibility with other programs.
5. Solids created from expanded polygons are
"positive" by default
It is now
possible to change their sign directly from the contextual menu, with the
option "Positive/Negative solid" (\posne command).
6. If you are updating your version from Build 488,
you’ll need to restore the default preferences of ARC+ (\setgui), in order to
benefit from the corrections we made in the pulldown and in the contextual
menus.
To
load the standard ARC+ user interface, select "Restore" in the dialog
box of the command \setgui.

Main corrections &
changes
1.
PRINT improvements:
1.1. All the parts
of the drawing to print, which have colors configured to "don't
print", are now ignored during printing (not printed in white).
1.2. Linetypes
configuration and printing has been changed, to be fully compatible with the
methods used in older versions of ARC+.
Important !
The size of segment entered by the user is now the final unit size.
1.3. The name of
the Print Configuration "default" cannot be changed.
The default templates - for Geom and for DSG – have been replaced in all the
language versions where this name has been previously translated.
Note!
After updating your older version of ARC+ 2nd Edition, you'll find
the corrected "default" templates in the installation folder:
…\RESOURCE\TEMPLATE\...
- Your personal "default" templates in …\ARCALIB\TEMPLATE\... will
NOT be overwritten by this update!
2.
Color Select dialog improvements:
2.1. Display of R G
B values has been corrected.
2.2. Selecting colors
after previously closing the dialog box with "Cancel".
2.3. Display of
dialog boxes when working with Black background in Geom is now correct:
- Display of
icons in the Walls library, after closing the dialog box with "x" and
opening it again.
- Display of
color #1 on black background, in the colors list and in the preview windows of:
\aline – set current line attributes, \atext – set current text attributes,
\adim – set current dimension attributes

Colors list is now correctly displayed, when
returning to Geom from DSG.
4.
Files – Export
(\eximport) - Removed old options to export to old format files: DXF/DWG
2000 and DXF/DWG 14 (not supporting new DB of ARC+ 2nd Edition)
5.
Object Manager - \objmng – This command is now
disabled in DSG mode.
6.
Layer Manager - dialog box corrected in some
translated versions to include the layer status button.
7.
General Help Index (based on ARC+ 14) - added
option to display the General Help Index on Windows Vista – in the command
\help and in the pulldown menus.
8.
Full user guide for ARC+ 2nd Edition – is now
available in the French version – in the Help menu and in the command \help

1.
PRINT Improvements:
1.1. Selecting a
printer in the print dialog box, for printing or for preview, sets the
"Current printing device" of ARC+ and does not affect the
"Default printer" of Windows.
1.2. It is now
possible to print a DSG document with other scales, in addition to 1:1.
1.3. Corrected
position of the printed drawing with Reference Point option "Low
left".
1.4. The printed
drawing is now complete also on the right and bottom of the paper.
2.
Improvements in colors management:
2.1. Compressing
colors list to used colors only, includes also the colors of dimension lines
and dimension texts.
2.2. Colors list is
correctly restored when returning to Modeling (Geom) mode from DSG.
2.3. Selecting new
preferred colors will invoke the message to save changes in the file, also if
no other changes done.

OPENAS will invoke the message to save changes in
the file, also if no further changes done.
4.
OPEN DWG – Improvement in the Layers conversion
table, with corrected import of "Layer 0" to Layer 1 of ARC+.
5.
SAVEAS Template improvements:
5.1. A new option
added - "settings only" – enables to save a new template from the
current file, while excluding the drawing itself. This new option works both on
Modeling files (Geom) and on DSG files, creating a DSG template with the same
page frame as in the current file.
5.2. SAVEAS ARC+
file after SAVEAS Template displays now the correct file name in the title.
6.
SAVEAS ARC+ file of old format or template –
added protection from overwriting files which are currently in use and locked.
Note: It is still possible to overwrite the file
open in the current session, by itself (same as \save).
7.
Improvements in SAVEAS ARC+ file of old format:
7.1. All 255 colors
in the current file are always converted to 15 colors, according to the default
colors conversion table.
7.2. The text of
the check box "Convert colors" has been changed to:
"Define colors conversion". This check box enables to change the
default colors conversion table and to save it.
7.3. All last
changes in the current file are saved to the target external file with the old
format.
7.4. When saving as
ARC+ 2005 and 2007 format, also the .ADB part of the file is created.
7.5. If "Save
icon" is checked then the icon for the old format is created with 15
colors.
8.
OPEN in an older version of ARC+, files which
were saved in ARC+ 2nd Edition - The message displayed to the user
has been changed to:
"This database was saved in a newer
version of ARC+. Please use the appropriate save as option in the new version,
in order to open it here."

ARC+ Versions Manager - SETVERSION – if one
version of ARC+ is running all the options in the dialog are disabled and other
versions are protected from being used or modified during the same time.
2.
PRINT options – Corrections done for printing in Modeling and in DSG
modes : for scale and orientation
3.
LIBEDIT corrections:
3.1. Save objects
with more than 15 colors – icon is now
correctly created with all the old and new colors
3.2. Save objects
with raster – icon is now correctly created with the image inside
4.
CLRCONV – conversion of color index in the
current file:
4.1. The colors 1
to 15 of all entities which were created in the current file can be converted
to any color in the 255 colors palette.
4.2. When the
current file is saved, after colors conversion, also its icon is saved with the
new colors.
5.
MCLRCONV – conversion of color index in external
files and folders (recursive):
5.1. The colors in
the icons (.icn) of the selected files to convert are also converted.
5.2. DSG frames are
not converted and maintain their original color index.
6.
Catalog Manager and other ARC+ files browser
display the old and the new icons correctly, of both types of files, with 15
colors icons and with 255 colors.
7.
SAVEAS DXF/DWG files compatible with version 2006
compatible is corrected.
8.
SAVEAS Template – a new option “Only setting” has
been added, to save the current file as template without the drawing itself.
9.
TEXTB – Creating text block with <ENTER>
after the last line - the last empty
line of the text block is removed automatically, to avoid the error message
when trying to explode it later.
10. CALLOUT with
the option “smoothed” – corrected bug in
DSG mode.
11. OPENAS in DSG
mode is corrected
12. Return to
Modeling mode from DSG is corrected, also if a file was open before.
13. NEWP with
<ENTER> to close the polygon, as well as all other commands for creation
of 2D polygons – include now a new option to create “polyline” ("symbol
polygon")
14. PARC – we can
start a polygon by arc also after several polygons have been created and a new
file is opened.
15. CSEL – Added
loop to select by color from the input line, when popup mode is off (no
dialog).
